We just installed the latest version of Pinnacle (3.7.4, I believe) and it`s working great. No bugs that we`ve been able to find. Much improved SEO tools and a great cart designer function. We did inquire about upgrading ( we had an older release )when the 3.7 version came out so I can understand some of the reviews below. But the support guys said to wait a couple of weeks and we did. And so far, very impressed.

My company purchased the new release 3.7 of Pinnacle carts licensed software. I agree completley with the last person opinions with regards to the cost involved and the risks associated. In addition to that 3.7 has some decent features but some major flaws. There technical support is toting bug fixes every two weeks. Lots of bugs. Its my understanding that they aren`t going to be even ready to release the first bug fixes on schedule. Problems adding items to the cart. Catagorizing items is fine for a small company, but not suitable for a larger business. Problems with IE6 and IE7 and crashing. Of course minimized by tech support.

I had high hopes for this cart. I really like all the features, third party support, user interface and one page checkout. Sadly, my experience is ruined by a draconian licensing scheme. The Pinnacle Cart installer requires license key verification before it will continue. The domain, subdomain or IP address of your server must be registered on Pinnacle Cart`s end before the key can be verified on your server. This is bad enough, because if the company ever fails, there is no assurance that you`ll ever be able to reinstall using your owned license ever again. But it gets worse! To update the IP, domain or subdomain requires a current support contract. If your contract has expired, it costs $169 to renew. I have no problem requiring a support contract to receive technical support, or to download major or minor updates, but just to update the server you`re licensed to use *your* cart on? Unthinkable.

Its hard to even rate this product one star. I will start with the positive as to not be all negative. The checkout process for the purchase of the license was good and clean. I suspect Pinnacle does not even utilize thier own shopping cart though as it seem much better than they one they sell to consumers. Nonetheless this was the easiest part of deling with them from their on nothing but problems. For starters as soon as I started customization which I felt entirely necessary they started placing blame on me for any feature that would not work although it was thier fault. They lead me to believe that they are compatible with Fedex, UPS and the US Postal Service but that is not entirely accurate. As for the new release I was told I`m not going to say anything specifically about compliance or when its compliant but I`m going to infer it. I`m not sure if Pinnacle realized they where speaking to one of thier customers. I will start looking for a better more reputable solution for my business.

I agree with the postings above. They also have very knowledgeable support though the cart`s interface really doesn`t make me ask a lot of questions. Most importantly, the newsletter the just sent out says the new software release will be PA DSS compliant and that is HUGE for a small business trying to stay PCI compliant. Buy this software as I recommend it to everyone who asks.

When I was looking for a shopping cart for my clients, I searched tirelessly, looking at a multitude of different carts in a wide range of costs and features. This is a time-consuming task and through the process of elimination, Pinnacle Cart kept making its way to the top of the list and stayed there. I was impressed not only in the cart, the features, and the back-end, but even in the way Pinnacle Cart sells its product via the design and available information on their website, which means to me, as a designer, that Pinnacle Cart realizes the importance of aesthetics and logical navigation which translates directly to their product. Fast forward a few years and I am still very happy with my decision, have them installed on multiple sites, recommend them often, and have found their technical support to be repeatedly helpful and patient when it comes to questions or trouble shooting, which wraps this whole package up very nicely
